Description:

Complete breaststroke performed completely submerged.

Purpose:

This drill is important in order to add breaststroke Tennessee turns to your practices (TN Turns are laps performed in which the swimmer swims completely underwater from the flags, through the turn, and back to the flags before surfacing.  

Underwater strokes help accentuate all the resistive elements of recovering arms and legs

Without breathing, the underwater strokes help improve timing of the stroke elements

        • Upside down breaststroke on the back removes all natural habits and problems and forces the swimmer to focus solely on the stroke and all of it’s details.
