Building Block: 4 Point Lead Hand Stability

Description:

  • One hand up
  • Arm forward
  • Bend elbow
  • Finish stroke
  • Pausing at each position

Why:

  • Allows the swimmer to focus on one arm at a time
  • Allows them to think about the quality of the stroke

 

Building Block: Catch-Up at Thighs

Description:

  • Keep one hand on the thigh the whole time
  • Wait for the other hand to touch the thigh before the other hand strokes

Why:

  • Focus on the power of the finish
  • Focus on the push
  • Focus on lifting the elbow to recover
  • Focus on the entry
